Every girl is treated as an individual. Special individual needs include: those of the exceptionally able; those with mild learning difficulties; those with physical difficulties; those whose religious or other commitments who require special consideration. A specialist co-ordinater works, across the age range (4 – 18), and closely with, the co-ordinator for gifted and talented, the pastoral heads and senior management. There are on-going observations by subject staff of year groups, the feedback from which is followed up by the specialist staff. Girls with known medical conditions are on a special medical register and the school nurse holds individual medical plans. All staff are expected to familiarize themselves with girls’ needs on a need-to-know basis. Special provision is made for those who need to miss school, or fast, for religious reasons.

“We hope that you will enjoy looking at our website and decide to visit one of our Open Days. We are a happy, hard working, well-focussed community drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. We celebrate our traditions as being part of the larger Habs’ family but we are also very proud of our ability to nurture our pupils and prepare them to be active citizens of a global 21st century, meeting the opportunities and challenges it will throw in their way.
We have an excellent reputation for the academic attainments of all our pupils but we also believe in the development of the whole person, whether it is excelling in music, sport and drama or simply enjoying participating in them. Charity fund-raising, working with the wider and global community and looking beyond our beautiful campus location are all important aspects of the education provided here.
The days are busy and creative; lessons are fun and varied but there is also the time and space for pupils to reflect on their lives and their dreams.
We strive to encourage independent learning and we hope that our pupils will relish the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects. Our pupils leave to take up places at the top universities with many happy memories of their time here, returning later in their careers to support another generation of Habs’ girls as they take their next steps into the wider world.
Whether a pupil joins us at 4, 7, 11 or 16 they will find their time here energising and rewarding; they will be known for themselves and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
We hope that you will come along to the school and see this for yourself.
