Our scholarship programme for Year 9 is about recognising aptitude and developing
talent, rather than rewarding success. For this reason the Foundation has taken the
view that these scholarships should be ‘honorary’, in the sense that they carry no direct
financial fee remission. Scholars are expected to show a commitment to the relevant
discipline and make a meaningful contribution to this aspect of school life.
It is possible to hold both a scholarship and a bursary, so if you are in need of financial
support to attend the Foundation, please do consider applying for a bursary. The
process for this is outlined on our website in the ‘financial assistance’ section
We offer financially assisted places to provide support for such students who apply.
Financial assistance can be applied for at Rosedale House for years 3-6, Dame Bradbury’s School for years 3-6, Senior School, and the Sixth Form.
Eligibility for financial assistance depends on financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants. It is awarded based on total parental income, with the level of assistance reviewed on an annual basis
The Senior School is renowned for academic excellence achieved through a progressive curriculum and this means excellent results at GCSE which is a necessary and important first step towards successful university applications and thereafter future careers. The Senior School is the gateway to the Stephen Perse Sixth Form which offers both the International Baccalaureate and A level programmes.
We offer a co-educational environment where boys and girls are taught and learn together to better reflect real world situations and career progression. Individuality matters too – placing the students at the centre of school life allows each one to flourish. It is hugely important to me that every student feels valued here and that each of our young people is celebrated. Our academic success goes hand-in-hand with our students’ wellbeing, achieved through exemplary pastoral support across all age groups. This is the result of the motivation and professionalism of our superbly well-qualified and hugely dedicated teachers.
Richard Girvan, Principal and Head of Senior School.
